Bill Blocker’s Website
A place to show off wood carvings
An Updated Site for my Dad
In 1966 my dad, Bill Blocker. started a wood carving, we lived in the city of Bell in Southern California. That year we moved to Sunnyvale, CA in what is now Silicon Valley, back then it was a lot of orchard land. My dad finished that carving in Sunnyvale after we moved. He had been doing some kind of carving or woodworking ever since.
Woodworking and Wood Carving as well as golf were his two loves as hobbies. Through the years he has built furniture for my Mom and an entire oak bedroom set for my wife and I. He has carved two rocking horses, one each for my sister’s and my family as we had the grandkids.
As fate and the health of the steel industry would have it, my dad retired from Bethlehem Steel at age 49 in 1983 with 31 years of service. Then his hobbies kicked in full force and he is still active to this day.
With medical problems he lost sight in his right eye. He had to give up golf and intricate bird carving, but he still carves, mostly caricatures. I have set up some galleries by category so you can see his work through the years. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as he has enjoyed this hobby through the years. In the about me section there is a more detailed history.
